Sean offered Daniel a place in the next project.
Daniel called me.
“I said no.”
“Did you want to say yes?”
“Very much.”
“Why no?”
“I don’t have money I can afford to lose.”
That sentence sounded simple.
It represented years of growth.
Then he added:
“And I don’t want to lie to Emily again.”
Better.
He used part of the recovered money to finish paying legal penalties.
The rest went into emergency savings.
