Chapter 13 - HELEN AND NAOMI MEET

Helen requested mediation with Naomi over the gala confrontation.
Naomi agreed only with counsel.
Helen apologized.

“I was under enormous pressure.”
Naomi waited.
“I shouldn't have lunged.”

Helen looked irritated by the lack of comfort.
Then:
“I’m sorry.”
Naomi answered:
“Thank you.”

Helen asked:
“Do you forgive me?”
Naomi smiled faintly.
“You don't need that for the meeting to end.”
Helen stared.
