Chapter 29 - The Old Hand Signal

Noah asked me once why the old hand signal mattered so much.

“It wasn’t classified.”

“No.”

“Not unique?”

“Not really.”

“Then why did Ranger recognize it?”

“Because commands aren’t only shapes.”

Timing.

Body.

Eyes.

History.

I did not explain technique.

Ranger recognized me because memory is more than a motion.

That realization helped me understand identity too.

Hannah was not the driver’s license.

Evelyn was not the uniform.

People are patterns built over years.

Ranger had seen the pattern underneath.
