Chapter 10 - The Nurse at Red Mesa
Lena remembered another person on Sophia’s final night.
A volunteer nurse, Grace Patel, working with injured rangers.
Grace left Arizona two years ago.
Investigators found her in Oregon.
She remembered Sophia returning to clinic after midnight with a cut on hand from broken storage box. Non-graphic.
Sophia seemed afraid.
She said:
“If anyone asks, I wasn't here.”
Grace assumed family conflict.
Then a man arrived.
Daniel.
Not Owen.
Grace saw him through window.
Sophia refused speak.
Daniel said:
“You’re making this bigger than it is.”
Sophia replied:
“You made it criminal.”
Grace heard.
She didn't tell police because Owen later said family resolved.
Again.
Authority.
Grace also saw Sophia hand Lena something? Lena says no memory. Could be blue-star tube placed then.

11:40 Sophia arrives.
11:52 video.
12:05 Daniel arrives.
12:20 argument.
12:31 Sophia leaves.
Daniel leaves 12:36.
Owen follows?
Car north 2:14.
Gap.
Where Sophia went between 12:31 and 2:14 remained mystery.
Second phone gave clue.
At 1:07 she called Marcus.
His phone showed missed call?
Marcus checked old records. There was no call.
Because number blocked? Carrier logs now show call lasted 3 seconds, routed to voicemail but voicemail deleted remotely from his account at 1:09.
Who had access?
Crane Security configured his phone during engagement trip? Maybe no.
Marcus’s mobile account was on family plan temporarily because Sophia convinced him? More plausible: Sophia had given him a Crane-provided secure phone due threats. Owen had admin access.
Voicemail was deleted.
Marcus never knew Sophia called.
