Chapter 9 - CHLOE BREAKS

Chloe was called in again.
This time without her mother initially, though as a minor/depending age her guardian participated later per school process. To keep simple, Chloe is eighteen? Senior likely 18. Fine.
She stared at the screenshot.
“Did your mother send this?”
Silence.
“Chloe?”
“She was helping.”
“With what?”
“Protecting me.”
There it was.
Victoria had learned about Elias after Chloe came home furious about blind audition.
She researched.
Found Daniel-Harrison connection.
Told Chloe:
“If the school won't correct this, we'll make them defend it publicly.”
Chloe asked whether Victoria sent threats.
“She said she would create pressure.”
“What kind?”
“I don't know.”
Dr. Foster asked:
“Did you give her Elias's phone number?”
Chloe looked down.
“Yes.”
The school directory had student contact details accessible for team coordination.
Chloe gave it to her mother.
Elias felt sick.
An adult had potentially used school access to harass a student.
Again, investigation needed proof.
Chloe whispered:
“I didn't know she'd say stuff about his dad.”
“But you wanted him pressured.”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“Because center was mine.”
Mr. Harrison leaned forward.
“No.”
Chloe looked at him.
“Nothing in a blind audition is yours before you earn it.”
Her face broke.
Three years of being captain had become identity.
Her mother reinforced it.
Private lessons.
Competitions.
Solos.
College applications built around leadership.
Elias's arrival threatened the narrative.
Chloe did not simply lose a spot.
She thought she was losing the future.
That explained.
May you like
Did not excuse.
