Chapter 6 - The Medical FileMy father changed strategy.

After the Army rejected his allegation that I concealed scars, he sent a second letter.

This one claimed I suffered severe psychological trauma making military training dangerous.

He attached therapy notes.

My therapy notes.

From when I was nineteen.

Private medical records.

Captain Price immediately sent matter to legal and privacy channels.

The notes were five years old.

They documented fear.

Nightmares.

Body-image distress.

Nothing disqualifying by itself.

More importantly, I had disclosed required history during enlistment.

My father was trying to use my recovery as a weapon.

Again.

Captain Price said:

“You want us to stop showing you his correspondence?”

“Yes.”

Good.

Not every accusation deserved space in my head.

Military authorities confirmed my fitness remained based on current evaluation.

The past could inform.

Not dictate.

I returned to training.

We had a ruck march the next morning.

Nobody offered to carry my pack.

Perfect.
