Chapter 12 - The Letter From Uncle NathanUncle Nathan wrote me through attorney.

He wanted immunity? Not yet.

He wanted talk.

I refused private meeting.

Investigators interviewed.

Nathan admitted billing for work not fully completed.

He claimed my father knew.

He used cheaper subcontractors because Robert asked him return part of grant money for “program expenses.”

How much returned?

$180,000.

Cash and transfers.

Where?

Community-center operating account and one private company.

Robert Quinn Consulting.

Nathan insisted nobody expected fire.

I believed that part.

Greed did not require murderous intent.

The consequences were still real.

Nathan said after fire Robert told him:

“If they blame wiring, we both go down.”

So they pushed heater explanation.

I had been the volunteer nearest heater.

Convenient.

They never formally accused me.

May you like

They allowed implication.

Sometimes cowardice works through suggestion.
