The group escaped through the back of the building.
They did not fight.
They ran.
Samuel carried the ledger.
Red Willow guided them through a narrow canyon.
Behind them, Mercer shouted.
Samuel finally understood something important.
Mercer wasn't the mastermind.
He was the knife.
Rourke was the hand holding it.
They reached safety after midnight.
Samuel opened the ledger.
One page had been torn out.
The missing page contained the largest payment.
The initials beside it were:
E.R.
Samuel looked at Red Willow.
"We need the missing page."
